[Synopsis] Born and raised in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture, at the foot of the Northern Alps, Ayumu Miyamoto (Harusuke Sugino) is an orthopedic surgeon who became a doctor with an important promise in mind. She returns to her hometown for the first time in 11 years and starts working at Shinano General Hospital, where Shuko Matsuzawa (Rei Dan) is the director and her classmate Noriko Muramatsu (Sae Okazaki), an anesthesiologist, is there, but as soon as she arrives, she is ordered to concurrently serve in the orthopedics department and the mountaineering department. According to mountain nurse Rei Ayukawa (Emma Miyazawa), the mountain clinic deals with illnesses and injuries that occur in the mountains, provides outpatient consultations once a week, and also works overnight at mountain huts on weekends. Ayumu, who had not heard anything beforehand, is confused by the sudden news, but Shuuko seems to have a plan. A while later, while Ayumu is being examined at the outpatient clinic, he receives news that a shipwreck has occurred in a nearby mountain. Following Shuko's instructions, Ayumu immediately hops on a rescue helicopter and heads to the scene. However, when the mountains of the Northern Alps come into view, a memory flashes back and his breathing gradually becomes heavier. At the scene, six young men wearing light clothing that did not seem to be geared toward mountain climbing were found lying on the ground. After giving first aid to the two injured people, Ayumu instructs the emergency team to transport them to the hospital. However, the next moment, another person, who had fallen and hit his chest, begins to suffer from chest pain. As the patient's level of consciousness declines, Ayumu's impatience reaches its peak as he is unable to figure out the cause. Back at the hospital, Ayumu visits the director's office and asks Shuko why she was assigned to the mountain clinic. Then, a man wearing a white coat called by Shuko enters. The man's name is Gakuto Emori (Nao Omori). He is a cardiologist at the same hospital, and also works in the mountain clinic like Ayumu. What's more, only doctors who have passed the international standard exam can become international mountain doctors.
