Product Introduction
Pit-Road 1/350 JB Series Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Submarine SS-516 Raigei Plastic Model JB37 The Taigei-class submarine is the successor to the Soryu-class, with the first, the Taigei, commissioned in March 2022. While externally similar to the Soryu-class, it is equipped with higher-capacity, high-output lithium batteries, improving its submergence capabilities. The fourth, the Raigei, is scheduled to be launched in October 2023 and commissioned in March 2025. This 1/350-scale plastic model kit recreates differences from the Soryu, such as the wider upper hull and sail base, while featuring easy-to-assemble and paintable parts. The sound-absorbing tiles covering the hull and sails are molded in. Two types of sail parts are included, with hatch shapes above the rudder varying depending on the shipbuilder. Includes decals for the ship's number and name: SS-516 Raigei and SS-517 (to be named in the fall of 2024). Includes one full-hull model. Finished size: 239.5mm long. *Images are CG images based on modeling data. *To enjoy this plastic model safely, avoid high temperatures, humidity, and direct sunlight, and build it in a well-ventilated area.
