Pit-Road 1/350 JB Series Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Submarine SS-516 Raigei Plastic Model JB37 The Taigei-class submarine is the successor to the Soryu-class, with the first, the Taigei, commissioned in March 2022. While externally similar to the Soryu-class, it is equipped with higher-capacity, high-output lithium batteries, improving its submergence capabilities. The fourth, the Raigei, is scheduled to be launched in October 2023 and commissioned in March 2025. This 1/350-scale plastic model kit recreates differences from the Soryu, such as the wider upper hull and sail base, while featuring easy-to-assemble and paintable parts.
