Product Introduction

The Murasame-class is the third generation of gas turbine-propelled general-purpose destroyers, following the Hatsuyuki-class and Asagiri-class. Nine ships were built by 2002. The sixth ship, "Samidare," was completed in March 2000 and participated in overseas operations, including convoy escort off the coast of Somalia for anti-piracy measures, in 2009. It is currently assigned to the 4th Escort Division of the 4th Escort Flotilla in Kure. The kit includes hull bottom parts, as well as decals for the ship numbers and names of the 6th to 9th ships ("Samidare," "Ikazuchi," "Akebono," and "Ariake"), and newly created decals including current helicopter landing markings and walkways.
