The fan arrived intact, packed in a box, and already charged. All 5 modes work. This is not an air cooler, but just a fan. In 5 minutes of operation, it "ate" 12% of the battery. That is, at minimum load, it will work for about 40 minutes. The airflow is directed towards the cheeks; I thought it would also blow the back of the head. Overall, a cool toy.
