●About Staub
The stork, Staub's emblem, is a symbol of Alsace, a region in northeastern France. Founded in Alsace, a region with a long history of industrialization, Staub, a century-old company, developed its first cocotte (Pico Cocotte) in 1974 in response to requests from Francis Staub, a member of the founding family, and famous chefs.
●Making Chefs' Visions a Reality
Since their launch, these products have captivated chefs in the French culinary world, combining sharp designs worthy of restaurant tables, functionality that brings out the best in ingredients, and durability that can withstand the elements. Staub, originally intended for professional use, is now widely used in French households.
● Preserves the flavor of ingredients
The self-basting system, which automatically circulates steam from ingredients using the protrusions on the underside of the lid, and the thick cast iron ensure even heat distribution and heat retention, preserving flavor and vitamins, ensuring optimal cooking.
● Brass (or nickel) knobs
These knobs can withstand high temperatures. They can also be used for oven cooking.
● Matte black enamel
The interior of the cocotte features Staub's unique textured finish. The fine irregularities increase the surface area, allowing for better oil absorption and reducing contact with ingredients, preventing sticking.
● Excellent heat conduction and heat retention
Heat is distributed throughout the pot, and the enamel (porcelain enamel) coating enhances heat retention, allowing you to cook with minimal heat. Its excellent heat retention allows you to enjoy your food hot even when served directly on the table.
●Durable triple-layer enamel finish
Made from glass, the enamel resists the acids in ingredients and prevents odor transfer over time. Staub's three-layer thin enamel finish is exceptionally durable, even for professional use.
●Compatible with all heat sources
The smooth base is compatible with all heat sources. Compatible with gas flames, ovens, and induction cooktops (100/200V). (Note: Not microwave safe.)
●Designed in Japan
The XO Rice Cocotte is ideal for cooking rice and stews. Its design, inspired by Japanese ideas, is as comfortable to use as a tabletop cooktop cooktop.
●Not microwave safe. Dishwasher safe
