Description
Shime daiko is a rope-tensioned drum. It is typically used as a metronome but can be used in musical pieces as a main drum as well. Shime daiko are widely used for festivals, traditional Japanese theater like Noh and Kabuki, classical Japanese music as well as modern taiko group performances.
Product condition
This drum was found in a collector's storage along with other antique items.
There are stains, scuffs, dusts and fade of ropes due to age, but no noticeable damages.
The taiko drumsticks (bachi) are tied together with string and secured with adhesive.
