[Product Description]
The Kagero-class destroyers "Hamakaze" and "Isokaze" were also called masterpieces of the Imperial Japanese Navy.
Hamakaze was completed on June 30, 1941, at Uraga Shipyard.
During naval battles, it participated in the Hawaii air raid operation, and later in the Midway operation, South Pacific naval battles, Mariana Islands naval battle, and Leyte Gulf naval battle, serving as an escort for aircraft carriers. On April 7, 1945, it was sunk during the Okinawa special attack operation of the battleship Yamato after being attacked in an air raid.
Isokaze was completed on December 15, 1940, at Sasebo Naval Arsenal, and as a state-of-the-art destroyer, it was assigned to escort duties for the carrier task force immediately after the outbreak of war.
Although Isokaze fought in numerous naval battles, it was heavily damaged by air attack during the Okinawa special attack operation of the battleship Yamato on April 7, 1945, and was disposed of by gunfire from Yukikaze.
