About 40 years ago, if bass players wanted a rich, tight, and articulate sound, they had to carry large and extremely heavy amplifiers. Today, there are portable preamps that offer everything from big clean sounds to attractive saturated sounds and are highly portable. This is a panacea for low-end loving players. Features Master Adjust the overall volume of Vintage Ultra. Ideal for fine-tuning clean mode output. It can also be used as a level control for the D.I Out. Blend Controls the mix balance between clean signal and overdrive signal. Regardless of the setting of the Level knob, which controls the volume of the overdrive signal, the clean signal is at unity gain, and the Blend knob allows you to fine-tune the balance of the mix. Level Sets the volume of the overdrive signal. Drive Sets the amount of saturation of the overdrive signal. Attack Switch Sets the amount of high frequency when saturated. The “Boost” setting emphasizes presence and creates a clearer sound. The “Flat” position has no effect on the tone. The “Cut” position reduces the amount of high frequencies, creating a warmer sound. Grunt Switch Select the low range boost level before the clipping stage from 3 modes and set the strength of the low range. Bass Boost/cut up to ±12dB with 100Hz as the center frequency. Lo Mids Boost/cut the frequency selected from 250Hz, 500Hz, and 1KHz up to ±12dB using the center frequency. Hi Mids Boost/cut the frequency selected from 750Hz, 1.5kHz, and 3KHz up to ±12dB using the center frequency. Treble Boost/cut up to ±12dB with 5kHz as the center frequency.
