ND filters reduce the amount of light reaching the film without affecting color.

An ND2 filter reduces exposure by 1 stop.

An ND4 filter reduces exposure by 2 stops.

An ND8 filter reduces exposure by 3 stops.

ND filters provide greater control over the camera aperture, exposure time, and ISO sensitivity sensor. They can be used to reduce depth of field and produce sharper images.
