Description
This is an antique Japanese fuchi‑kashira set signed Yoshioka Inabanosuke, a craftsman of the respected Yoshioka School active during the Edo period. The Yoshioka lineage is known for refined carving, elegant compositions, and skilled use of gold inlay in sword fittings (koshirae).
The fuchi features beautifully detailed gold‑inlaid cranes, showing the classic elegance and precision associated with the Yoshioka school.
The kashira depicts three young crane chicks in gold inlay, a charming and symbolic motif representing growth, protection, and good fortune.
The contrast between the dark shakudo base and the bright gold accents highlights the high level of craftsmanship typical of Yoshioka Inabanosuke’s work. Pieces from this school are highly valued by collectors for their balanced design and classical Edo‑period aesthetics.
