Chinoiserie Modern Kyoto has always expressed its brand's worldview through completely original designs and full-surface embroidery. The lotus flower embroidered parasol uses "cutwork embroidery," which can be said to be the pinnacle of embroidery. This "cutwork embroidery" is not the simple cutwork of the past, such as a single point or hem embroidery (= scallop embroidery), but a full-surface cutwork embroidery that spreads across the entire umbrella fabric, and is finished by artisans cutting each and every piece by hand with scissors, which is a time-consuming and laborious process.
The design features the popular Chinoiserie modern pattern "hummingbird" and embroidered beautiful flowers, creating a design that matches modern fashion while maintaining a traditional Japanese aesthetic. The design incorporates delicate lace-like embroidery, which, when combined with cutwork embroidery, results in an elegant design. Furthermore, the organza was custom dyed to match the umbrella fabric, successfully creating different images depending on the umbrella fabric color, even with the same design.
Despite the bold embroidery, the "Kawazu-bari Heat-Relieving Parasol" (a special double-layer construction) provides complete sun protection and a high heat-shielding index of 53. *100% light blocking, over 99.9% UV protection, UPF 50+, heat-shielding index 53% (according to Kaken Test Center). The lining uses a urethane-coated fabric with a water resistance of over 2000. This embroidered parasol can be used without any problems in the rain as well, making it a parasol that can be used in both sunny and rainy weather.
The short folding type features a convenient easy-open mechanism that eliminates the need to bend the umbrella ribs. Despite folding, it's as large as a full-sized umbrella, providing a reassuring size that completely envelops you. The umbrella bag, which, like the umbrella itself, is adorned with elegant organza cutwork embroidery, is made of water-repellent fabric, making it a convenient bag for quickly putting a wet umbrella inside in a sudden downpour.

The "Actress Parasol Premium" series takes the full embroidery to the next level, combining full embroidery (cutwork embroidery) with organza for a truly enhanced look.
This design features delicate lace-like embroidery, incorporating beautiful flowers and the popular "hummingbird" embroidery, a top choice in modern Chinoiserie style.
The outer fabric and organza are embroidered together, the outer fabric is cut out, and then further embroidery is applied to the organza. This organza embroidery is significantly more time-consuming than conventional full-surface embroidery. Compared to embroidery alone, it has a sense of lightness and creates a nuanced beauty. Furthermore, even though it is full-surface embroidery, the special double-layer construction method, known as "kawazu-bari," achieves complete light blocking and high heat insulation/heat dissipation.
◆It also addresses the glare from sunlight reflecting off the ground, thanks to a black urethane coating that prevents reflection.
◆The organza fabric used also boasts water-repellent properties, offering high water resistance that can withstand rain and sudden downpours.
