He was born under the sign of Leo in 1952. in Suwałki. Independent researcher, previously associated with universities in Gdańsk (1976-1999) I in Wrocław (1999-2020). It deals primarily with lichens, but also with plants, their ecology and protection, and environmental monitoring.. He is the author of several dozen books and over two hundred scientific and popular science articles. He also wrote about a hundred feuilletons, poems, and screenplays for films with a nature theme.. Supervisor of several dozen master's theses and 14 doctoral dissertations – he is most proud of them and considers them his most important achievement in the field of science. Is interested in natural motifs in art and literature. Fan of thrillers, poetry, and good books. He lives on the outskirts of Wrocław, where there are extensive areas for walking dogs.. He cultivates a large garden in which he has long existential discussions with the dozens of plant species growing in it.. He is a lover of travel, driving, potato sausage, and the Suwałki Region, and from further regions – Siberia, the Amazon, tropical islands, and Cappadocia. Privately, a father of four children and a grandfather of eight (for now!) grandchildren.
