Brand Introduction For 110 years since its founding in 1905, Red Wing has continued to produce durable shoes with traditional craftsmanship in its own factory. Founder Charles Beckman immigrated from Germany with dreams of a new life. He got off the train in Red Wing City, Minnesota, and after working in a tannery, he started a shoe shop. However, dissatisfied with the quality of ready-made shoes, he decided to make his own, wanting to sell "only truly good shoes." This marked the birth of the Red Wing Shoe Company. Today, they own a tannery and are one of the few shoe manufacturers in the world that produces leather specifically for their shoes. The founder's spirit remains alive and well.
