Korg has incorporated its latest technology, used in popular products like KingKORG, kaossilator, kaoss pad, and taktile, to reinvent the electribe. The 200 preset patterns cover genres such as House, Techno, as well as Trap and EDM, reflecting the latest dance music scene. Supporting polyphony playback, essential for complex chord progressions in genres like House, is a major evolution of the new electribe.
◆ Evolved Step Sequencer
Use the 16 pads lined up at the front of the unit to intuitively create patterns while listening and watching the sound. It supports real-time recording using the pads as a keyboard, as well as step recording by inputting pitch and note length one by one. Additionally, it features a “Motion Sequence” function that records knob and button operations directly to create detailed patterns.
◆ New Beat Making: Trigger Pads and Touch Pads
Familiar from kaossilator, the Touch Scale allows anyone to perform confidently by simply tracing the touch pad. The trigger pads, praised in taktile, enable intuitive phrase creation and can also be used for drum input. Velocity on/off can be set according to your preferences.
◆ Fastest Synth Engine for Sound Creation
The oscillator waveforms consist of 409 types, combining analog modeling and PCM. The analog modeling sound source offers a wide range of variations, from simple basic waveforms to complex combinations using Dual, Unison, Sync, Ring Mod, and Cross Mod. PCM sounds mainly cover rhythm and multi-samples for keyboard use.
◆ Further Sound Shaping: Effects and Groove Templates
The new electribe features effects such as compressors and overdrives for each part, allowing detailed sound customization for different genres. The groove function for each part can be set with templates to add groove to phrases.
◆ Live Performance Features: Master Effects, Pattern Set, Sync In/Out
Master effects controllable via the touch pad, similar to kaoss pad, include spatial effects to shape the overall sound, as well as effects like “Vinyl Break,” and newly developed effects such as “Seq Reverse” and “Odd Stepper” to actively alter the music. These greatly enhance live performance.
Pattern set function allows switching patterns with a single pad press, and event recording captures performances. Equipped with MIDI IN/OUT and Sync IN/OUT, it can synchronize with volca series, monotribe, MS-20 mini, and more. Powered by six AA batteries, it is portable for performances anywhere, enabling quick realization of spontaneous ideas.

Korg has partnered with Ableton to propose a new music production workflow combining hardware and software advantages. electribe can export saved patterns in Ableton Live format. Each pattern and part can be saved as scenes or clips within Ableton Live sets. Use Live’s powerful session and editing workflow to refine ideas, record new parts, arrange, and mix your music. electribe includes Ableton Live 9 Lite (license card).
