In the early 1980s, Brian Eno developed the "Shimmer" effect, which became popular through use in U2's album "The Unforgettable Fire" (1984). This effect combines ambient reverb with octave effects in the decay of the reverb. The 3 Series Octave Reverb adds JHS's own twist to this classic effect, allowing you to create pads and textures on guitar and fill ambient spaces. Switching the toggle switch to the up position produces an upper octave sound, while switching to the down position produces a lower octave sound.
