This is the first-ever vinyl pressing of the "Image Album" for Studio Ghibli's 2001 film "Spirited Away," directed by Hayao Miyazaki. Image albums in the Ghibli/Hisaishi tradition are composed and recorded before a film enters production, built from poetic image notes written by the director to sketch out the story's mood and world. For this album, Joe Hisaishi set Miyazaki's imagery to music with contributions from a varied lineup of vocalists, including U-mi, Shizuru Ohtaka, Tsunehiko Kamijo, Monsieur Kamayatsu, and RIKKI. The audio has been newly remastered for this LP release, and the jacket features new artwork designed specifically for the vinyl edition.
