The Air Jordan 1 was launched in 1985 and marked first basketball shoe named after Michael Jordan—ushering in an era. The iconic ‘Wings’ logo originated from Peter Moore, Creative Director at the time. As a revolutionary basketball shoe, the Air Jordan 1 was once heavily fined for violating the league’s uniform dress code; however, this ban instead propelled the shoe to instant fame, triggering a frenzy of purchases and leaving behind a legendary story.
