IsolBau Butyl Sealing Tape Floor Area. The butyl tape is compatible with all liquid polymer and polymer-cement sealing compounds (Liquid membrane, 2K sealing slurry etc.) and tile adhesives. The IsolBau Butyl tape is ideal for sealing swimming pools, bathtubs, and shower trays in bathrooms, toilets in saunas or in aquaparks, for sealing in the window and door area for inside and outside, as well as for sheet metal work on the outside of balconies and terraces.

The substrate must be firm, level, clean, free of dust and grease, and without old paint layers or fine elements that could impair product adhesion.. Pre-treat the substrate with a suitable primer.
Contaminations and unstable layers must be removed and supplemented with a suitable material. The butyl sealing tape exhibits perfect adhesive bonding with plastic, metal, glass, cardboard, and bitumen.
All cement screeds connected to the floor or floating are suitable as a substrate (heated or unheated) as well as other correspondingly firm and load-bearing substrates such as: ceramic masonry elements, aerated concrete, cement and gypsum plasters, reinforced concrete, plasterboard, fiber gypsum boards, OSB boards, gypsum blocks etc.
Cut the butyl tape to the required length. Peel off one half of the silicone strip on the back and press firmly onto the designated area. Then peel off the second silicone strip and stick the sealing tape to the surface.
The sealing tape must be positioned correctly when first applied.. A correction only works to a limited extent depending on the substrate. Consider an overlap of at least 5 cm. Subsequently, re-work the butyl sealing tape with the composite waterproofing.
