・【Contents】The [Fiat] 500 was developed with an eye toward a market similar to Japan’s kei car market – something more than a motorcycle but less than a standard automobile – and was released in 1957. As the name suggests, it was equipped with a 500cc air-cooled two-cylinder engine, and despite its extremely small body length of 3 meters, it could accommodate four adults. This made it a huge hit in Europe, particularly in its home country of Italy, as an affordable automobile, and approximately 4 million units were produced by the time production ended in 1975. Modifying the small body for faster performance was also popular, and [Abarth], which would later be acquired by [Fiat] and play a key role in motorsport activities, also gained popularity by producing modification parts and complete cars. In [Hot Wheels], it faithfully reproduces the appearance equipped with overfenders and wide wheels, just like those worked on by [Abarth], and the rear engine hood fixed open to allow for running with heat dissipation.
