Some iPhone displays allow re-soldering the original controller (engine/IC) from the factory display.
In such displays, the manufacturer has provided solder pads that can be factory-protected with black insulating tape. This tape is usually firmly attached and masks the solder pads.

To check their presence, carefully peel off the protective tape.
In some versions, the solder pads may be additionally masked by a dummy controller, which only serves as a cover.
