Asics Gel Kayano 5 OG 'Retro Tokyo' (Unisex) Cream / Classic Red Running Shoes 1021A388 100

This classic running shoe, originally launched in 1999, restores its original construction. After initial sketches were drawn paper, designer Toshikazu Kayano quickly noted that the upper reflects the skeletal structure, organs, and muscles of human anatomy. Constructed with a mesh-and-suede upper, the shoe introduces two significant innovations in footwear evolution—the teardrop and Quadra lacing systems—enhancing fit and delivering improved midfoot support. The GEL-KAYANO™5 OG RETRO TOKYO running shoe features a large GEL™-based cushioning unit injected into the heel for pronounced comfort, while its layered, tiered application has become a foundational design principle still influencing footwear today.
