[Features of Selvedge Denim] • Selvedge refers to the edge of denim fabric, commonly known as the "selvedge," and is denim fabric woven using old-fashioned power looms, with fray-resistant edges. • Selvedge denim produced using old-fashioned looms requires more than five times the time of weaving compared to regular denim. Craftsmen can only weave a few meters per hour, with numerous checks, and there is often waste due to weaving defects, making it a very valuable and rare denim fabric. • The true value of selvedge denim lies in the "material." Selvedge denim, woven on old-fashioned looms, is imbued with a great deal of "individuality" due to the analog nature of the looms and the adjustments made by skilled craftsmen. This "individuality" is what makes a big difference in how the denim fades over time.
