Product Introduction
To celebrate the coronation of King George VI in London, the Asahi Shimbun Company acquired a prototype Type 97 airborne reconnaissance aircraft, which had not yet been officially adopted by the Army, and attempted to set a new speed record for the flight to London.
Despite the lack of an air route between Japan and Europe at the time, the Kamikaze departed Tachikawa on April 6, 1937, and arrived in London on April 9 after a voyage of 94 hours, 17 minutes, and 56 seconds.
This set a new world speed record for the Asia-European air route.
At the time, Japan's aircraft development was still considered underdeveloped, and this record was met with admiration and praise from around the world.
The kit includes the Kamikaze's distinctive markings as well as special parts.
This is a plastic model kit that requires assembly and painting.
Assembly and painting require additional adhesives, tools, paints, etc.
