Product Introduction
Product Introduction Product Introduction The battleship Musashi, along with the Yamato, was a symbol of the Combined Fleet. It returns with a precisely crafted triple 25mm machine gun mount and revised specifications. This is an unpainted kit requiring assembly and painting. The scale is 1/700, and this underwater model does not include the hull. It uses molds from the previous (special series) model. The battleship Musashi was the second ship of the "Yamato-class," the final class of ships designed and constructed by the Imperial Japanese Navy. It was completed at the Kure Naval Arsenal in August 1942, the year after the outbreak of war. It was equipped with nine 46cm guns, the world's largest main battery, and displaced an unprecedented 64,000 tons. It was incorporated into the Combined Fleet on the same day as its completion. As aircraft became the primary force, the Musashi underwent modifications to strengthen its anti-aircraft armament and deployed in the Battle of the Philippine Sea and the Battle of Leyte Gulf. In October 1944, US forces landed in the Philippines, and the Yamato, Nagato, and other Combined Fleets joined Operation Sho-Ichi-Go (the Battle of Leyte Gulf), but were sunk in the Sibuyan Sea by air attacks. This product is modeled after the ship's completion in August 1942, around October, when remaining construction work was completed. The ship was equipped with four secondary guns on both the port and starboard sides, and anti-aircraft guns had not yet been upgraded. The Type 21 radar, installed immediately after completion, is mounted on a 15-meter rangefinder above the bridge. The hull is constructed with a single port and starboard side and upper wooden deck. The numerous unobstructed portholes, a feature of the early war, are depicted using raised molding. The wooden deck is also depicted using raised molding. The hull and bottom plate are all molded in gray. The bridge and funnels are joined together. ●The figure is primarily equipped with armaments designed for fleet combat at the time of completion. ・The main gun barrel and canvas are one piece, and the elevation angle is fixed in the locked position. ・Four secondary guns are mounted on the ship, with the turret and barrel integrated into one part. ・The 25mm triple machine gun (without shield) comes with a choice of conventional molded parts or precisely sculpted parts newly released in 2018. ・The barrel elevation angle of the shielded 25mm triple machine gun can be selected between high elevation and locked position. ・Two types of floatplanes are included: the A6M Zero observation plane and the A6M Zero (three-seat) floatplane reconnaissance plane, two of each. ・The aircraft are molded in gray. ●Three types of decals are included: Decals featuring the naval ensign, the Japanese flag, and aircraft markings. ・The naval ensign and other decals are available in three sizes. Includes 1/700 scale versions of the actual 10-, 6-, and 3-width dimensions. Includes the Hinomaru (Japanese flag) and friendly identification stripe (yellow stripe) of aircraft carriers, including the Hinomaru (Japanese flag) without the white border seen later in the war. Includes decals for draft markings, the chrysanthemum crest on the bow, and the ship's name on the stern (in gold and solid warship colors). Includes decals for easily depicting the walkway on the aircraft deck at the rear of the ship. Molded parts are available in two colors: gray and transparent. 220 pieces required for assembly.
