Following in the footsteps of its enamel, lacquer, and cloisonné creations, the brand introduces an Arita ware dial model, brimming with the artisanal craftsmanship of Japan. Seiko's unique Arita ware dial, with its elegant luster, combines the lustrous three-dimensionality inherent to porcelain with the tradition and passion of its forebears, and innovative high-strength technology. Unlike enamel, lacquer, and cloisonné, which are crafted on a metal base, the dial itself is sculpted three-dimensionally using a special technique, with a lustrous surface finished with a glaze. The dial color is a bluish white known as "isbai," the original color of Arita ware. Japan's first ceramics were created in 1616 (Genwa 2) using pottery stone discovered in Izumiyama, Arita Town. Early ceramics were characterized by their high iron content, resulting in a bluish white color.
