Women of Brazil - The untold story rescues the history of over 200 women from the most varied eras whose biographies were altered, distorted, or who simply did not appear in the conventional records.

After demystifying the figures of the emperors D. Pedro I and D. Leopoldina, the writer and researcher Paulo Rezzutti dedicates himself to women known or ignored by the history of Brazil: from warriors to villains, from women of power to artists. It also illuminates little-known trajectories of indigenous and enslaved black women and advances to the present day, with women like Marielle Franco, the Rio de Janeiro city councilor assassinated in March 2018 for daring not to be invisible.

The book arrives at a time when the discussion about the role of women in society intensifies, surprising the reader by reintroducing events from Brazilian history with the female characters finally reinstated in the prominent roles that were denied them by the official narrative.
