This series is designed to help you prepare for the Japanese Language Teacher Examination, focusing on the three most important areas tested: grammar, phonetics, and teaching methods.
The "Phonetics" section covers Japanese sound units and kana, accents, prosody, phonemes and phonetic symbols, speech organs and vowels, consonants, special mora, and phonology in nine chapters.
After taking a "Proficiency Assessment Quiz" at the beginning of each chapter, you will then move on to an explanation and worksheets for the lesson. The explanations, featuring numerous diagrams and charts, clearly explain how pronunciation works and highlight key points. Each lesson is generally structured as a two-page spread, allowing even beginners and those who are not yet comfortable with phonetics to steadily progress through their studies in small steps. At the end of each chapter, a "Proficiency Assessment Test" is included to test your skills.
This book is useful not only for exam preparation but also for teaching phonetics in the classroom.
