Equipped with two ESS Technology ES9219MQ integrated DAC and amplifier chips in a separate left and right configuration. Low noise, low distortion, and high output: The BTR15 features two ESS Technology ES9219MQ integrated DAC chips, one for each side. Balanced output power is approximately 40% higher (from 240mW to 340mW) than the previous model, providing powerful driving force. Separate power supplies for the DAC and headphone amplifier sections of the integrated DAC chip ensure low noise and distortion.
Powerful XMOS [XU316] Processing Capabilities Support 384kHz/32-bit, DSD256, and MQA Full Decoding: The BTR15 utilizes the XMOS [XU316] USB controller chip, supporting playback of PCM 384kHz/32-bit and DSD256 (Native) via the USB Type-C port. The powerful 16-core processor also enables full MQA decoding. The USB DAC function supports two modes: USB Audio Class 1.0 mode, which requires no driver, and 2.0 mode, which allows full-spec playback. The latter requires a driver download and installation from the official FIIO website.
The Bluetooth receiver uses Qualcomm's QCC5125, ensuring high connection stability. The BTR15 is equipped with the same Qualcomm Bluetooth IC QCC5125, and supports a wide range of audio codecs, including AAC, SBC, aptX, aptX LL, aptX Adaptive, aptX HD, and LDAC.
In addition to the standard 3.5mm single-ended output, the BTR15 also features a 4.4mm balanced output. The fully balanced audio architecture, which operates the ES9219MQ independently for left and right, allows each channel to be driven by its own independent DAC and amplification stage, delivering a high output of 340mW.
Global Parametric Equalizer for Proper Equalization Regardless of Mode: The BTR15 features FIIO's proprietary Global Parametric Equalizer (PEQ) for precise equalization in both wireless and wired modes. PEQ adjustments are handled by the QCC5125 DSP in Bluetooth mode and the XMOS XU316 when used as a USB DAC. FIIO's proprietary interface allows for consistent PEQ settings regardless of mode. Enabling or disabling PEQ while using the BTR15 as a USB DAC will reset the USB connection. Please adjust the volume and playback controls on your smartphone again.
The BTR15 features a 0.96-inch OLED front panel. Easily check operating status and settings: The front of the BTR15 features a crisp, 0.96-inch OLED display with a resolution of 96x96 pixels. The display is larger than the BTR5's 0.49-inch display, improving visibility and displaying pairing destinations, connection status, call status, power status, encoding format, and volume. You can also use this display and the hard buttons on the side of the unit to adjust settings, including EQ.
8 hours of continuous playback with a 2-hour charge, and built-in maintenance features for long-term use: The BTR15's built-in 550mAh battery allows for a full charge in approximately 2 hours, providing approximately 8 hours of continuous playback. Furthermore, it is equipped with several built-in maintenance features for worry-free use even over long periods of time.
Detailed settings are possible with the FIIO app: The BTR15's larger display makes it easier to set up the device, but by using the FIIO app (FIIO Music or FIIO Control), you can change the BTR15's built-in parameters. A unique feature is that you can adjust odd and even harmonic distortion, allowing you to create a sound that suits your preferences.
