This is a 1/75 scale "Kanrin Maru without sail" wooden sailing ship model from Woody JOE. A mechanical sailing ship ordered by the Shogunate from the Netherlands, it was a screw-propelled mechanical sailing ship with a wooden hull and a steam engine. In 1860, she carried a mission to exchange a trade treaty between the United States and Japan and headed to San Francisco. Along with the captain, Kaishu Katsu, John Manjiro and Yukichi Fukuzawa were also on board. The kit is mainly composed of highly accurate wooden laser-processed parts, and also uses metal etching and soft metal parts, and is a precision model in flying condition with the sail removed.
