This is an Avis plastic model of the "1/35 German Hecht Midget Submarine."

This two-man submarine was developed by Germany after capturing the British midget submarine X-Boat. It was based on the X-Boat. It was powered solely by an electric motor and had a bow-mounted explosive charge that could be attached to enemy ships. It could also carry a single torpedo below. Due to its poor navigation capabilities, it was primarily used for training.
