Feature: 1. SMT TECHNOLOGY: AS440 is a half wave phase controlled thyristor type AVR that is part of the brushless generator excitation system. The design uses surface mount technology (SMT) to achieve a premium degree of functional integration in a small size AVR. 2. LOW SPEED PROTECTION: The frequency measurement circuit continuously monitors the output of the generator and provides low speed protection for the excitation system by proportionally reducing the output voltage below a preset threshold. Manual adjustment is provided for factory set low frequency roll down points (UFRO). This can easily be changed to 50 or 60 Hz in live push link selection. 3. USE DETAIL: By using efficient semiconductors in the power supply circuit of the AVR, a positive voltage established from the residual level is ensured. The power and voltage detection circuits have separate terminals that allow excitation power to be obtained directly from the stator winding of the basic application, or from the auxiliary winding if continuous short circuit performance is required. 4. CONTROL DETAIL: Based on this sampling voltage, the AVR controls the power fed into the exciter magnetic field, thereby controlling the main magnetic field to maintain the motor output voltage within a specified limit. 5.
