[Speaking] [Listening] [Reading] [Writing]
A long-selling intermediate Japanese textbook that comprehensively develops the four skills
This book is a revised edition of the best-selling intermediate Japanese textbook, "AN INTEGRATED APPROACH TO INTERMEDIATE JAPANESE."
This book aims to help learners who have completed the beginner level develop the four skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing at an intermediate level while also deepening their understanding of Japanese affairs.
Like the first edition, it consists of 15 lessons, each centered around "Conversation" and "Reading," and includes "Vocabulary," "Kanji List," "Grammar Notes," "Practice Practice," "Listening Practice," and "Speed Reading." Additionally, a new "Conversation Practice Points" section has been added to practice in line with each lesson's function.
The "Conversation" and "Reading" sections have been updated to incorporate linguistic expressions and content more in line with current conditions in Japan. Additionally, the "Grammar Notes" and "Grammar Practice" sections have been expanded with more topics and explanations to facilitate more thorough study.
A workbook has been provided separate from the textbook, and the grammar practice section has been moved to the workbook so that students can study on their own in parallel with classroom activities. The workbook also now includes new content questions for the reading material and kanji sheets for practicing the kanji featured in the kanji list.
All audio materials have been re-recorded and included on CD with the textbook. Students can study using the audio at any time. The CD contains not only the conversation and listening practice sections, but also all of the reading material.
To support teachers using these materials, a dedicated website has been set up to provide supplementary materials and related information. (Scheduled to be launched in autumn 2008)
