KATO N Gauge DD51 500 Early Model Cold-Resistant Diesel Locomotive 7008-P

This is a reproduction of the 8th batch of DD51 locomotives belonging to the Kushiro Locomotive Depot, circa 1980. The body paint has a matte finish, a characteristic of locomotives belonging to the Kushiro Locomotive Depot. Reproduces cold-climate equipment such as rotating windows and whistle covers, as well as tablet catchers and protective fences. Reproduces characteristics of the early model, such as a two-leaf front inspection door, a brake-less intermediate bogie, and a 4,500-liter fuel tank. The H-rubbers on each window and the rubber at the bonnet connection are depicted in gray. Headlights light up (using warm white LEDs). Arnold couplers are standard, and a replacement knuckle coupler is included. Selectable license plates: "527", "528", "529", "530". Manufacturer nameplate: "Mitsubishi" printed on it. By using the "28-260-1 DD51 Powered Bogie (without tires)" available from Hobby Center Kato, you can enjoy smoother operation when headed in multiple units. Additionally, by using the "28-267 DD51 Light Unit (Set of 2) for Multiple Units," you can recreate the state in which the headlight of the second locomotive is turned off when headed in multiple units.
