Genuine Toyota GLV-1 Motor Oil, 0W-8, 4L, 08880-14505

Toyota is working to lower the viscosity of engine oils, which contributes significantly to improved fuel economy. This newly developed oil meets the lowest viscosity currently available, the SAE*4 viscosity classification of "0W-8," and is the first in the world to receive certification under the JASO GLV-1 low-viscosity oil quality standard. By using high-performance synthetic oils and developing and adopting additives with excellent viscosity characteristics, the oil has a viscosity that is approximately 25% lower*5 than the previous "Toyota Genuine Motor Oil SN 0W-16." Furthermore, by fully utilizing the effects of additives that form a low-friction film, the oil achieves even lower friction. Improved flow properties at room temperature also contribute to improved fuel economy in hybrid vehicles that experience repeated engine starts, achieving an improvement of approximately 0.7% compared to the previous product. Furthermore, Toyota's additive technology, developed to date, suppresses the generation of impurities inside the engine, allowing the engine's original performance to be maintained for longer. This oil will be used in the factory-filled oil for the new Yaris Hybrid, which goes on sale February 10, with plans to gradually expand the range of vehicles available.
