Samue is the traditional garment worn by Zen Buddhist monks for their daily chores. This highly convenient workwear has been updated for a modern lifestyle, with a comfortable fit and silhouette suited to modern Japanese lifestyles. The shoulders and sleeve openings are contoured to the body like a Western jacket, eliminating excess fabric around the shoulders for a streamlined yet relaxed design. Crafted from denim from Kojima, the home of jeans, these pants feature a unique denim texture that improves with wear. The stretchy material allows for easy movement and resists wrinkles, making them ideal for everyday wear. The antibacterial and deodorizing treatment helps keep denim clean and odor-free, even when it's not washed after each wear. The pants retain the relaxed fit of samue, but are streamlined toward the hem, with an inward-facing waistband for easy adjustment and a comfortable fit. The jacket features one pocket inside, two outside, and two on the side and back of the pants. The back pocket, a feature not found in traditional samue, adds convenience and makes them suitable for wearing on their own. The elastic cuffs can be adjusted with buttons, so you can roll up your sleeves if you want. The adjustable hem allows you to choose between tapered and straight pants.
