More accurate than an overhang gauge: Rather than simply adjusting the length using an overhang gauge, this cartridge alignment protractor allows you to adjust the stylus's tracking angle at two points: the outer circumference (120.9 mm) and the inner circumference (66.03 mm). It supports a variety of tonearms with its two-point alignment system compliant with Baerwald alignment standards.
For all audiophiles: Adjusting the stylus position and angle is just as important as adjusting the tracking force. With typical offset tonearms, noise such as distortion, muddiness, and rattling occurs as the tracking point moves from the inner to the outer groove. This template, which allows you to check the precise tracking position, is necessary to minimize this tracking error.
Instructions for use: Set the template hole on the spindle, move the tonearm to point A (120.9mm), and loosen the cartridge mounting screw to adjust the position so that the cartridge is horizontal and perpendicular to the template. Next, move the arm to point B (66.03mm) while rotating the turntable slightly, and adjust it to be perpendicular in the same way. Return to point A, check the angle, and repeat until it is correct at both points.
