The COLOR-SKOPAR 50mm F2.2 is a manual focus standard lens optimized for full-frame M-mount sensors. The newly designed optical system, with its F2.2 aperture, allows for a remarkably short overall length of just 30mm from the mount surface, despite its 50mm focal length. The lens construction, consisting of 7 elements in 6 groups, including 3 anomalous partial dispersion glass elements, delivers excellent optical performance even at its widest aperture of F2.2. The result is a compact, highly portable, and versatile lens. This lens features a high-precision rangefinder coupling mechanism, offering a silky-smooth operation thanks to its all-metal helicoid, and allowing you to enjoy the traditional pleasure of focusing with a rangefinder. The minimum focusing distance is 0.7m (which varies depending on the camera) when coupled to the rangefinder, and by employing a helicoid that extends further, it can be reduced to 0.5m. The lens body is equipped with a focusing lever with a comfortable grip, allowing for quick and reliable focusing despite its compact appearance. By memorizing the relationship between the position of this focusing lever and the distance scale, you can pre-set the approximate focusing distance without having to look at the numbers engraved on the lens barrel. The camera body is available in two exterior finishes: black and silver. A compact, straight-type lens hood, matching the body color and designed not to obstruct the rangefinder window of a rangefinder camera, is included. Removing this hood reduces the overall length from the mount to 30mm, further enhancing portability and ease of handling in and out of a bag. The filter diameter is a traditional and compact φ39mm. The optical design of this lens is optimized for use with rangefinder digital and film cameras, but it is also designed for use with mirrorless digital cameras using a mount adapter, thus supporting shooting on a variety of platforms beyond rangefinder cameras.
