The VideoMic Go II Helix is a versatile, ultra-lightweight on-camera microphone suitable for a variety of recording styles.
It features a newly adopted RØDE-developed HELIX™ isolation mount, which stably holds the microphone body while efficiently cutting noise from the camera and mounting surface.
Compared to the previous shock mount, it is smaller and lighter, making it more manageable.
In addition to the 3.5mm TRS analog output for on-camera use, it also has a USB-C digital output, allowing it to be used as a USB microphone* when connected to mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets or PCs.
When connected via USB-C, in addition to recording control from various RØDE apps, settings such as input gain, pad, and high-pass filter can be changed.
Furthermore, in windy environments, the separately sold WS12 windshield can be used to suppress wind noise, and the HF boost reduces muffled sound when attached.
When using the USB-C output, you can monitor microphone audio (which can be switched on/off in the app) and listen to audio output from the connected device via the 3.5mm TRS jack.
