Master and doctor in Linguistics from the University of São Paulo, the babalorixá Sidnei Nogueira presents a history of religious intolerance in Brazil, also recalling important moments in human history marked by religious domination, such as the Roman Empire, the Middle Ages, and Nazism. From then on, it discusses the expression "religious intolerance", currently used to describe a set of ideologies and attitudes offensive to beliefs, rituals, and religious practices considered non-hegemonic.. Practices that, added to the lack of skill or willingness to recognize and respect different beliefs of others, can be considered hate crimes that violate human freedom and dignity.
