Approximately 88cm of that length is used. A plain rush grass tatami mat, typically 110cm long, will have a slight white tinge around the edges. (This is not due to sun damage; it's the color of the base and tip of the rush.) ● The longer the rush, the more luxurious it becomes. The tips of rush grass are reddish-brown, the base is white, and the center is blue (green). The more high-quality blue grass is used, the stronger and more beautiful the finish will be. This product uses approximately 120cm long rush grass, so the white tinge around the edges is less noticeable. ● This product is finished using the manufacturer's unique "hand-mixed weaving" method. Several dyed rush colors are carefully mixed in specific ratios to create a deep color. If the blending is done carelessly, the color will be uneven. ● This product is carefully selected by artisans who personally select and blend multiple colors of thread by hand to create a beautiful color scheme. ● The outer fabric is also made with a thick, double-woven weave for a sturdy finish. ● The lining is lined with non-woven fabric to protect tatami mats, flooring, and other surfaces. ● The rush grass is treated with Aomori cypress (antibacterial and deodorizing properties). ● Because this product is hand-blended by artisans, no two patterns are identical.
