Product Introduction
This is a Thunder Models 1/35 scale plastic model kit of the American Kenworth 10-ton 6x6 heavy tow truck M1A1 573 model.
The Kenworth 10-ton 6x6 heavy tow truck was the standard heavy tow truck used by the US Army during World War II.
Equipped with a 6-cylinder Continental engine, it was manufactured between 1941 and 1945 by Kenworth and Ward-LaFrance, although there were slight design differences between the two companies' vehicles.
Early models used commercially available cabs, fenders, and dedicated hoods from the manufacturers, resulting in noticeable external differences.
On the other hand, the M1A1 model adopted a military-grade open cab, flat fenders, and a standardized hood, making the exterior almost identical.
The Kenworth Model 573-M1A1 appeared in 1943, and approximately 1323 units were produced.
